Lesson 3 - Create

The Grown-Up Scoop

Crafts are a great way to explore a book in a hands-on and creative way. For The Magic Ukulele, children are invited to build their own ukulele. While your child(ren) craft, it’s a perfect time to spark a conversation with them. Find example conversation starters below!

5 Power Points!

Conversation Starters for Your Craft and Chat!

1. What is your favorite song? How does the song make you feel? Do you know any of the instruments being played in the song? Try making the instrument(s) sounds together.

2. Do you like to go places in your mind? What do you see and hear in your special place? Talk with your child about a special place or memory YOU like to visit.

3. What are some things that make you feel angry, mad, or sad? What do you to help yourself feel better?

4. Tell me about something that was hard for you to learn how to do. How did that make you feel? How did you figure it out?
