  • brush

  • watercolor paint (optional)

Instructions:

Let’s Make Our Own Fossil Relief Sculptures!

Step 1

EXPLORE all the textures of the materials found within your craft. Select a fabric square to be your building block or play with designs for 3-D connections to the book.

Step 2

BUILD and CONSTRUCT layers of shapes that connect to the themes of the book, such as; water, unity, bravery, nature, community, justice, and culture.

Step 3

EXPERIMENT with your design as it becomes 2-D or 3-D. GLUE shapes and patterns together once you have decided on your idea. Shapes can be glued flat or they can project from the surface.

Step 4

ATTACH the wire as a way to exhibit your quilt square or use it as an armature for a sculpture. An armature is the framework to attach materials to when sculpting. Just look at what you can do!
